Aflac Incorporated's common stock is principally traded on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol AFL. Aflac Incorporated's stock is also listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange. In January 2018, the board of directors announced a 15.6% increase in the quarterly cash dividend, effective with the first quarter of 2018. The first quarter 2018 cash dividend of $.52 per share is payable on March 1, 2018, to shareholders of record at the close of business on February 21, 2018. The declaration and payment of future dividends to holders of the Company's common stock will be at the discretion of the board of directors and will depend upon many factors, including the Company's financial condition, earnings, capital requirements of its operating subsidiaries, legal requirements, regulatory constraints and other factors as the board of directors deems relevant. There can be no assurance that the Company will declare and pay any additional or future dividends. For information concerning dividend restrictions, see Regulatory Restrictions in the Capital Resources and Liquidity section of MD&A and Note 13 of the Notes to the Consolidated Financial Statements presented in this report.
