Read and copy SEC filing sections as Markdown

A 10-K on EDGAR is one long HTML file. Most of the time you want one part of it: the risk factors, the management discussion, the cybersecurity disclosure. filings.tools splits each filing into its numbered Items, renders the tables, and lets you copy any section as Markdown. This walks through one real filing.

1. Open the filing

Type a ticker in the box at the top, or go straight to a URL. /nvda/10-k/latest redirects to NVIDIA's most recent annual report, which today is the 10-K for the fiscal year ended January 25, 2026, filed February 25, 2026: /nvda/10-k/2026-01-25.

2. Go to the section you need

That filing parses into 24 sections. A few of them, with their size in characters:

SectionCharacters
Item 1A. Risk Factors114,860
Item 1. Business48,696
Item 7. Management's Discussion and Analysis39,609
Item 1C. Cybersecurity3,941
Item 8. Financial Statements154

Item 8 is tiny because NVIDIA, like many filers, places its financial statements in Item 15's exhibits and schedules and only references them from Item 8. That is the filing's structure, not a parsing failure, but it is worth knowing before you go looking for the income statement.

3. Copy it as Markdown

Every section page has a Copy as markdown button and a plain Markdown link. The Markdown keeps headings, bold lead-ins and tables, so it pastes cleanly into a document, a notes app, or a prompt. Risk Factors alone is over 100,000 characters, so for an LLM you will usually want one section at a time rather than the whole filing.

4. The same thing over the API

# Find the filing id
curl "https://filings.tools/api/v1/filings?ticker=NVDA&form=10-K&limit=1"

# One section as Markdown
curl "https://filings.tools/api/v1/filings/1045810-000104581026000021/sections?format=md&section=item-1a"

# Every section as JSON (id, title, markdown, chars)
curl "https://filings.tools/api/v1/filings/1045810-000104581026000021/sections"

No key is needed for 200 calls a day; plans raise that. Full reference in the API docs.
