(1) In the three months ended March 31, 2022, participants surrendered 0.3 million shares for payment of minimum tax obligations upon the vesting or exercise of previously granted share-based compensation awards. Such shares were not repurchased as part of our publicly-announced share repurchase programs and are excluded from the table above.
(2) The Board of Directors approved a share repurchase authorization increase of $1.0 billion to such authorization on January 31, 2022. There is no expiration date for this program, under which $957.6 million remained as of March 31, 2022.
